The Vineyard
At the crossroads of the finest terroirs on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, our estates fully express the richness of their origins. Each appellation reveals a unique identity, shaped by the land, time, and generations of family expertise.
The History of the Estager Family
The ESTAGER family, originally from Corrèze, has been established in the Libournais region for four generations as wine merchants and producers.
Today, Charles is dedicated to crafting four wines that reflect three distinct terroirs.
These wines belong to three different appellations:
POMEROL, LALANDE-DE-POMEROL, and MONTAGNE SAINT-ÉMILION.
The cellars of our estates are located at Château Fougeailles in Néac, at the crossroads of the region’s four most prestigious appellations: Pomerol, Saint-Émilion, Lalande-de-Pomerol, and Montagne Saint-Émilion.
The Estate
Our vineyard covers a total of 7.65 hectares across three distinct appellations.
Lalande-de-Pomerol
Neighbouring Pomerol, Lalande-de-Pomerol flourishes on soils composed of clay, gravel, and sand, ideally suited to Merlot, the dominant grape variety.
Here, it produces charming wines with generous aromas of red and black fruits, sometimes enhanced by delicate floral or spicy notes.
On the palate, the structure is supple yet well-defined, offering a fine balance between freshness and roundness, along with good ageing potential for the finest cuvées.
Pomerol
Located on the Right Bank of the Garonne, Pomerol is one of the most prestigious appellations in the Libournais region. Dominated by Merlot—often representing 100% of the plantings—the vineyard rests on predominantly clay and gravel soils.
The wines are distinguished by their deep ruby colour and complex bouquet of ripe fruits (cherry, plum), evolving over time towards notes of truffle, leather, and undergrowth.
Full-bodied and velvety on the palate, they combine power, elegance, and excellent ageing potential.
Montagne Saint-Émilion
Situated on the hills to the north-west of Libourne, Montagne Saint-Émilion benefits from limestone soils particularly favourable to Merlot, which is largely predominant, complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The wines display a deep, brilliant colour and an aromatic profile dominated by cherry, blackcurrant, and plum.
The palate, structured by fine and elegant tannins, reveals freshness and harmonious length, allowing the best vintages to develop beautifully over time.
This human-scale vineyard allows us to work each plot with precision, ensuring that our wines reflect the purest expression of their terroir.
Our approach is rooted in a balance between tradition and continuous innovation.
